Biography:

Mary Shina was born in Serres, Greece. She studied Printmaking and typography-graphic design at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1966-1973), lithography at the Εcole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts, Paris (1976-1981). She taught Plastic Art at the Athens College - Psychiko (1981–1993) and printmaking at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1993-2015). She is Associate Professor. Her work has been shown in 30 solo exhibitions and in over 100 group shows and international Biennials in Greece and abroad. She was awarded two prizes in Kyoto, Japan, 2003 and in Triennial Krakow, Poland, 2009. She has been participated in the exhibition of the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the European Union in Brussels 2014 and a special stamp (40,5 x 40 mm) issued on the occasion of the Hellenic Presidency, featuring a detail of her woodcut ‘‘Aegean Odes’’ (2006). She lives and works in Athens.
