Mary Baranowski-Lowden has been working primarily in etching for close to thirty years. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Mary received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (with distinction) and Specialist Diploma in Art Education from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. She studied printmaking at the University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta. Mary was awarded an Alberta Foundation of the Arts Award. Mary’s work is in museum collections in Canada, Australia, Portugal, and Romania and many Canadian corporate collections. Mary was awarded the Gordon J. Wood Print Prize from Carleton University in Ottawa in 2015 and 2016. Mary has been selected to do an artist’s residency at The Admiral’s House, Wasp Studios on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.
