Luke Johnson is an artist based in Edmonton, Alberta. He received his BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is currently working toward his MFA at the University of Alberta. Johnson’s practice is concerned with hierarchies of knowledge, and the way in which ‘truth’ and value are delineated from the subjective and discardable. Through processes of reconfiguring and reordering materials, Johnson creates works that challenge the notion that documents and artifacts are intrinsically bastions of singular Read more...truth, and instead complicate efforts to categorize and objectify, to define and to know. Recent exhibitions include: 15th International Print Triennial, Jyväskylä, Finland (2019), Printed Matter, Kobro Gallery, Łódź, Poland (2019), Dyscorpia, Enterprise Square Galleries, Edmonton, Canada (2019), Stand Out Prints, Highpoint Center for Printmaking, Minneapolis, USA (2019), Felt, SNAP Gallery, Edmonton, Canada (2018), and the International Print Biennale Yerevan, Yerevan, Armenia (2017).
