Leslie Plimpton is an award-winning artist who favors figurative and portrait work that follows the constant theme of fashion. She graduated with a BA in Fine Art from California State University, Channel Islands in 2007 and has studied printmaking with Xavier Fumat at GEMINI G.E.L., with Linda Taylor at Spotted Dog Studio, with Julia Ayres who wrote “Monotype, Mediums and Methods for Painterly Printmaking,” and the late Michael McCabe, Master Printmaker of Santa Fe. She is a juried member of the Ojai Studio Artists, the Santa Barbara Printmakers, the Santa Barbara Art Association, and was a Founding Member of the inkspots of San Buenaventura. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Ventura County, the Ojai Valley Museum, and the Westmont Ridley Museum of Art, as well as galleries in Ventura, California and Ridgway, Colorado. Leslie explores her theme through printmaking using monotype, dry point etching and linocut techniques. She also paints in oil or acrylic with mixed media, as well as using ceramics to explore different aspects of fashion. Her artwork is in private collections around the United States.
