Mauricio Herrero is a Costa Rican visual artist. He obtained his Master of Fine Arts in Parsons The New School for Design, NY. He also holds a Master in Visual Arts and Education from the University of Barcelona and he is a Licentiate and Bachelor in Fine Arts with Emphasis in Printmaking from the University of Costa Rica. Among other themes he explores the tensions between drawing and architecture, the analog versus the digital and different approaches and ideas around print. This particular work investigates the urban fabric, it´s abstract architecture and the accumulation of graphic studies over time. He has shown in group and solo exhibitions in the United States, Mexico, Cuba, Costa Rica, Argentina, Spain and Portugal. Among these are the Joven Estampa Biennials in Havana, Ingráfica Festival in Spain, Fundación Ace for Contemporary Art in Buenos Aires and Oscar Román Gallery in Mexico City. In New York his work has been in the Project Art Auction, Art Currents Institute, The Kitchen, The Drawing Center, Times Square Gallery and the Art Director´s Club, among others.
