Biography:

Ernest Chan Tuck Yew completed his Diploma in Fine Art (Printmaking) at LASALLE College of the Arts Singapore in 1992. He awarded BA Honors in Fine Arts degree from the University of Central England, Birmingham Institute of Arts and Designs. In 1998 he obtained his Master of Fine Arts from Cheltenham & Gloucester College of Higher Education. The following year, Ernest was lecturing at LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts for next 7 years. In 2001 Ernest received accolades from Singapore President Nathan at the President' Read more...s Young Talents Exhibition held at the Singapore Art Museum. In 2006 Ernest joined the Esplanade as Visual Arts Programming Officer; he curates the visual arts annual exhibitions for the art center. After Esplanade, Ernest undertake curatorial projects include 1xsuitcase, Inside, from within, something that matter to name a few. Ernest has exhibited his works in numerous exhibitions locally and abroad. Ernest was the Vice President of Printmaking Society (Singapore) in 2005 and 2006. In 2004 he was the invited speaker to the Fifth Australian Print Symposium at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra. His prints were selected for the Mondial De L’estampe Et De La Gravure Originale Triennale De Chamalieres Printmaking Triennale in France in 2006; as well as in the Ist Macau Printmaking Triennial 2012.
